Great hair salon! I got a discount from Groupon so I had my hair coloured, cut, styled, and blow-dried. When they were colouring my hair, Shideh told me exactly what needed to be done or what would and wouldn’t work (Since my hair’s dark) but the final outcome was just beautiful and better than I imagined! The hair-stylists there were also very close and talked to each other about their clients’ hair…such as how they were going to dye it, what dye formula they were going to use, and they were just very supportive and creative with each other. I really enjoyed my experience there and plan to visit them again!

This was hands down the worste hair experience I have ever had – I purchased a Groupon deal which included a cut, colour, and blow dry. Upon booking, I was asked if I wanted highlights as well because they were able to do these at 30% off with the package. I said no, and that I would only like colour. I called about a week before my appointment to try and reschedule at which point I was asked again – you’re having colour and highlights? Umm no thanks, just colour. When I got there for my appointment, AGAIN I was asked you’re having colour and highlights? No – just colour please. I had a fairly clear idea of what I wanted, I am naturally dark blonde (with highlights) and wanted to go darker – the stylist was very clear about the fact that I would need highlights because I would get terrible roots when my hair grows out. I finally gave in to the highlights but made sure to tell him that I wanted a very natural look and not horrible streaks in my hair. My highlights came out incredibly streaky… Not to mention the colour was not what i wanted, and when I asked for just a trim I instead got terrible layers that start at my jawbone (something akin to a mullet) All said and done I politely expressed that I wasn’t happy at which point I was argued with and charged an EXTRA $59 dollars for AWFUL highlights. You’re telling me for $59.00 at %30 off, you normally charge $78 without taxes for what?! 4 – 6 foils alone? I left in tears. This place is a complete joke.

My girlfriend recomended that I try Colour Central after trying several salons and walking out unhappy always .I called the salon to book an appointment and the receptionist took the time to explain to me the base price point and informed me that I would need to give myself a couple of hrs time frame so that I would not be rushed if it was a colour correction that was needed so I booked the appointment with Ali .Upon arrival I was handed a client information sheet to fill out so that my formula would be documented in my file through their system and served a capucino while I was introduced to my stylist.I received a consultation for 15 min and was informed step by step what needed to be done to accomplish the desired colour that I wanted and why it never turned out as well as the cut I wanted.I was really nervous that I would have to pay and leave unsatisfied again but had a good feeling at the same time because I was given the attention that I never felt before .The atmosphere and the friendlyness of the staff together was incredible along with the experience.I loved my colour, highlights and my cut without paying a fortune…finally I have found my salon forever…I would recomend this salon over any yorkville salon anyday!

I have been going to Colour Central for many, many years and the service that Annie(she does my nails) and Ali provide are remarkable. Ali is always kidding me about how shorter I want my hair cut. When I go to their salon weekly I am treated as family even tough I am a loyal client to the salon, your staff rocks!!

I was refered to colour central from a friend. I wanted to get the latest “ombre” colour style and was skeptical about trying a new salon. My stylist Ehsan guided me through the process of what had to be done. I left the salon more than satisfied with the service and the whole salon experience!!

I bought a Dealticker coupon for cut, colored and 30% off on highlight. The guy who did all of that did an amazing job and I was very happy with the result. When I wanted to decide regarding the highlight I asked him how much the highlight is, the guy said $65 and you get 30% discount. So I accepted. The salon was nice and friendly and the guy was very gentleman. When I wanted to pay for my highlight and tax (I paid $20 tip to the guy) was where I got my shock. Unlike what was on the coupon, they told me because I have a long hair I have to pay extra. Also they charged me for decolouring although the day before I asked the salon owner on the phone if this coupon includes turning a dark hair to light and she said yes and nobody ever mentioned about $80 decolouring price! The owner was not in the salon when I was there, so they called her to clarify. She gave me another price ($250!) on the phone which was way higher than the price I got earlier from the front desk (which was $185)!! and when I said you had to tell me before you work on my hair, she started to snapping at me, and then started to literally shouting on the phone (she already shouted so loud to the poor guy who worked on my hair on the phone because he spent a long time to do my hair)!! She insulted me and told me NEVER COME BACK HERE!!!! I paid $185 and left there very very upset.

I wanted to express disappointment with my experience at your salon. I came in to donate my hair yesterday convinced that the minimum length needed was nine inches. Shai was convinced that it was 12 and upon returning home I confirmed that it was indeed nine. While mistakes sometimes happen, this is something that a salon should know. I was very attached to my long hair and to lose this much unecessarily is quite upsetting.

Besides this, my one request was that my hair be left long enough to put back in a ponytail for sports, and I was extremely adamant about this. While the initial cut would have been long enough, Shai chose a style for me that, although looks nice, does not meet the one requirement that I had. He asked if I wanted it to be asymmetrical and I said no, and yet it is anyway.

As someone who has clearly had long hair for a while, I was very nervous to be cutting any significant length off. Shai was not reassuring, did not listen to my needs or requests, and was instead hasty to cut off more than necessary. I work in athletics and need to put my hair back daily and will now be unable to do that for some time. While the haircut I was given looks nice, the one wish I had was ignored. I’m sorry to say that this experience only confirmed why I do not let people I don’t know cut my

I am the stylist that did the persons hair of the last comment regarding colour..

In our defence the client had the amount of hair of 3 people and prior to beginning the service I had fully explained the process of what needed to be done and costs applying to this service . I had to strip her colour 3 times to insure that her hair would be healthy on top of that I did a full set of highlights treatment colour and cut. the cut and colour was free i had qouted her for partial highlites which started at 65 dollers and up. Not to mentioned she had the thickest hair and it was to her waist.. It took me 8 hours to do this correction just the amount of products I had to use cost the salon a lot and felt so insulted because of the amount of work I had to do and the time and care that I put into making sure her hair was healthy and beautiful
the client felt that she just had to pay 65 dollers for highlights with an additional 30 percent off.. A normal service is cut 55 colour starts at 60, colour Correction starts at 80 for an initial stRipping if i have to wash and re apply its another 80. I did this 3 times so I don’t burn her hair and on top of all that I did a full highlites and a treatment was 30 if you add all those services together it comes to $480 you mean to tell me after all that service is done and ur so happy with the outcome of ur hair you just want to pay $65 dollers.. I’m sorry we are not a magic cuts we are experienced professionals that take pride in our work and I felt sick to my stomuch that after all my work I put into it you want to complain about paying for a service you asked for.. It seems like people like to play dumb and take advantage of our services. We do these promos to gain clients and business but it seems like people want to get a bmw For the price of a honda that’s not right… I felt that it is important to let the public know the other side of this ladys comment Thank you…

I was recommended by a friend to go to this salon. Shai is a very talented and stylish hairdresser. Unfortunately the owners wife Annie is so rude and unprofessional that I left and did not come back. Apparently I am not the only one who has left this salon because of her attitude problem and lack of customer service. She also tries to up charge the services and treats the staff poorly.

I went there last weekend and I was very disappointed with the service. The girl who cut my hair was very sweet and nice and she did a great job. But when I came to pay the problem started. The groupon was expiring on July 18th and I called first week of July to find out if I can use it on July 21st. I was told by a male that I am able to use it without needing to pay anything extra. When I got there, that wasn’t the case. I had to pay 100 more since my groupon expired. Also, the manager did not allow me to speak. She was very rude and she accused me of lying. I was very disappointed with the outcome. I have purchased groupons before and the places I have been to were very nice. I thought that is the point of groupon to attract customer. I definitely didn’t feel that way at Colour Central Studio. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

I purchased two visit packages from a man who came to my work I had some concerns regarding the package details and wanted to ask some questions about it. I walked over to the salon one day since it is located next to my work and decided to go inside and get the answers to my questions. I was told by the person who sold me the package that i could give my friend the promotion even though she had already been to the salon once before (1 year ago). He had told me that as long as the client had not been there in the past six months the voucher could still be used. That being said, i purchased 2 packages, one for me and one for my friend under the impression that she would still be able to use it even though she had been there long before. When i walked in to the salon i kindly approached the owner and explained to her my situation with me and friend, she immediately began lashing out at me with foul language saying things like “I don’t need cheap people like you in my salon with your freebies” and yelling at me telling me to get out of the salon and that i am not welcome there. I tried to calmly talk to her but her voice was over powering mine and she did not want to hear what i had to say even though i had payed for these promotions just like everyone else and just wanted to get some information on what i had been previously told by the man who sold me the promotion in the first place. I suggest that if this salon would like to stay in business you cannot have someone like that working at the salon let alone owning the salon. It seems like a beautiful salon but unfortunately i do not see this salon being in business much longer with that kind of attitude. I will make sure to WARN every body i know about this place and not to waste their time even stepping foot into this salon.

I purchased a Groupon for Cut and Color. Booked my appointment. Fine. I arrive and I’m told they would not colour my hair because I was wearing oxygen. Are you kidding me? I had my hair dyed before and never had any problems. My mom was with me and I asked if she could get the colour instead. They said NO, they can not open a separate file. They wanted me to bring them a doctor note. Are you kidding me??? So fine, I’ll just get a cut, no colour (which I already paid for).

I wanted to donate my long hair and I was told it needed to be like 12″ or so. I’m like no, I’m pretty sure my hair is long enough, it hits my belly button. It is actually only 8″. The stylist chop off my hair and it is cut really short. like Anna Wintour short. It looks fine but not what I wanted.

I am disappointed by their service and will not recommend to anyone.
