I have been going to Hutoshi for years. The owners, Hutoshi & Cyrus, specialise in “finger styling” – in other words, wash & go. It’s a friendly, unpretentious salon with a rock solid client base. No receptionist – whoever’s available will check you in and bring you a drink (ask for Cyrus’ special chai.) They emphasise well-cut, healthy hair, rather than relying on tons of “product”. The conditioner is left on your hair for several minutes for maximum effect, while you savour your drink. But the cut’s the thing. When you’re done, you don’t even need to blowdry. Just wash & go! Not particularly cheap at $67.00 a pop but you get a great cut that really lasts.
