I know someone who gets great cuts here. But the stylist does not understand curly hair, though he assured me he did when I told him mine had grown too thick and bunchy. He chopped into it seemingly at random, deep chops almost to the roots in some places, chatting enthusiastically about how fun and artistic this would look. I can’t see without my glasses, so was at a bit of a disadvantage. I ended up with a bird’s nest of a mess with big, unbalanced hunks of hair here and there. When I washed out his glue-like product, the result was indistinguishable from what we have all done to our Barbie dolls with our little plastic scissors when we were four or five years old. Hideous… the worst cut of my life so far. A stylist at another salon helped a bit, but said the chops were so deep it will be at least six months before it can be decently cut.

Hideous! Absolute worst cut of my life! The stylist hacked into my hair at random, “creating a fun and artistic look.” I ended up looking as though I had been attacked by a four-year-old with plastic scissors and had to pay again to have my hair fixed by another salon, though it will be at least six months until mt hair grows enough in the hacked spots to do a proper cut.

I thought I’d try CPB out a few years ago as my downtown stylist was inconvenient and expensive. Chris, the owner gave me a good, somewhat funky cut and colour the first time, and has been consistent ever since. He does great work on my hair, and I trust him completely.

My experience at CPB studio was great at first but shortly after turned out to be horrific. My first experience at the salon was great, the highlights I had done were wonderful so I decided to come back for a hair cut. I explained to him that I just wanted to get some layers done. He thined out my hair so much, choping into it randomly and deeply to the point where he ended up giving me a mullet. During the process he was on the phone making a personell call and not paying attention to my needs. The end result, I ended up with all my hair cut off with two inch random strands all over the place with a few seven inch long scraggly strands hanging. He made me looked so hideous that (sorry to say) he made me look like I was loosing my hair as if I was going through chemotherapy.

I decided to go to CPB because my current salon was booked and I needed my hair done before a friend’s wedding. The wait wasn’t very long. I told him I wanted a little trim on my hair and he ended up cutting more than what I told him to cut. Needless to say I was not happy and asked him to fix it! He tried to tell me that the look was “funky” and “hot”. I was going to a wedding, not a rock concert. I will never be going there again. He’s unprofessional… there was children there and he was swearing on the phone. Please proceed with caution. A simple trim can turn into a hack job.

love this place. been going here for ages. if you want something fun and edgy, ask for Chris. Antonella is good for very girly stuff, layering and whatnot. i personally like Chris’s style better. two of my top three best haircuts were by him. they were all midlength haircuts with movement and shape and multilayers. if that’s not what you’re looking for, try Marco [if he’s still there]. Chris is also great for men’s cuts and highlights! he’s very versatile. my mother and i [im 24 for reference and she is 45] both have very fine, thin, straight hair, and he even did my hair for high school prom. i said “my hair WILL NOT CURL when i try. make it wavy and BIG!” he said “want it big? i’ll make it huge.” and that he did. i had perfect prom hair after i went home and reset it with hairspray and whatnot [not his fault, it was rainy in may!] it was long and luscious and CURLED but not in a shirley temple way. exactly what i was looking for.. i had a boyfriend declare that he wanted to “ruin me” after i got a haircut [again, by chris] awhile back and antonella’s more layery, feminine, etc. i’ve seen her do some crazy good highlights. Chris has literally been cutting my hair [and my mums] since i was in-utero. i love these people! and he’s SO charming and sweet.. he takes this stance when he cuts your hair and really really pays attention. antonella is good for styling and curlier hair. bonus-they play great music.

if you’re looking for trendy/fun/stylish/retro/unusual/bouncy hair.. cpb all the way! also if you want a dramatic change.. great choice! and very reasonably priced. the walls are awesomely decorated too lol
