My advice to anyone who reads this comment is that if you are looking for a reputable salon to take your business to that will provide customer service, friendly atmosphere and any skill – do NOT visit this establishment. I have been getting my hair done for years and decided to try and give a salon in Burlington a try and went to this place and was horrified by one of the employees there. It saddens me to think that this establishment even exists because it represents Burlington in such a poor fashion. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.
I canT understand why you had such a bad experience. They have to be some of the sweetest, most courtious and respectful bunch of girls that work there. I have been going to them for years and always enjoy my visits. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS SALON, THEY ARE IN MY BOOKS BEYOND GREAT.
Funny how some person has the time to bash a salon that she has not even had a service at. Unfortunately, this person was late for her appointment, and we were not able to accomodate her, due to the fact that we were totally booked up!! We have many loyal clients who come to our salon, and have been coming here for years, and know that your comment is NOT TRUE!! Too bad you have not had a service here because you would not be writing this stuff on here. Just to let you know, we know who you are, and if you keep on slandering our business name we will be contacting a lawyer!!
Whoever wrote this doesn’t have a clue about these wonderful people who work at this establishment. I have been going for years to Lisa and it is a wonderful place and everyone I know who go to Shear Creations keep on coming back. I’m very surprised by this comment by Carpe Diem that she was horrified by one of the employees there. They are great girls and always positive and happy not forgetting that they are very competent in their skills with the scissors.
I bought a gift certificate for this salon and when I tried to make an appointment and mentioned that I had a gift certificate they came up with a ton of excuses as to why they couldn’t book me. First it was only certain people, certain times or certain dates and then when I finally agreed to their ludicrous policies of booking they then told me they wouldn’t have anything available for a couple of weeks and to call back. Today’s excuse was they aren’t booking anyone with gift certificates until January. I contacted the advertising company from whom I bought the certificate for the salon. It’s like a Wag-Jag thing. They informed me that they have been encountering nothing but problems from the salon and the salon has to honour the certificate or give me my money back. I contacted the police and they have had many complaints about the salon doing the exact same thing to other customers and they can’t get involved because it’s a civil matter. When I contacted the salon, their final comment to dealing with me was it’s too bad … I’ve bought these certificates for dozens of other salons in the past from Burlington and Oakville and have never experienced this type of frustration and downright rudeness this salon has. Congratulations you’ve ripped me off for $120 and my daughter and I will never say a kind word about your business and it’s not so much the money, it’s the principal because I’m sure a lot of people at this time of year can’t afford to be ripped off by you guys.
Hi Kimmy, I’m very sorry to hear about your experience. I can absolutely understand your frustration. As I work for Shear Creations please let me explain the situation. Back in July of 2011 a marketing company came into the salon and offered us their services. The deal was that they would sell vouchers for 4 different visits to professional businesses in the Burlington/Oakville area. They would receive the 60 dollars the vouchers were sold for and promote our salon. We received NO money, just the opportunity to meet potential clients. We were reluctant to make the deal but proceeded after being told that we could offer the voucher services on slower days of the week (Monday – Wednesday) not to interfere with the busy times we are already booked up. The vouchers were supposed to state that the visits were available Monday thru Wednesday and exclude the month of December as it is our busiest month of the year. It was also to state that any missed appointment (not cancelled my phone or email) would be void. We were told we would receive a rough draft of what the vouchers would look like and say, but we never did. The vouchers were then sold by this marketing company and many people such as yourself were not told of the valid times. When we then questioned them about this they told us that if people were not happy with the deal they would be able to get a full refund from them. This was fine until about a month later when this company stopped taking phone calls from us and buyers of vouchers. After a number of google searches trying to find this company WE then contacted the police out of concern that the company was not legitimate. The police at that time told us to a. stop taking the appointments and b. have the people who have bought the vouchers call them. Two weeks later an officer came in to inform us that the company is legitimate and to continue booking appointments on the days that we agreed upon, and so we have. This ordeal has been extremely frustrating for all of us that work at the salon as well as a large majority of the voucher buyers. As of now we have booked in and serviced many of the people who have bought the vouchers and 90% have all returned for other paid services. Please don’t feel “ripped” off by us as we are perfectly happy to accommodate you and your daughter.
This hair salon is the best! I have been going there for years, and ALL the girls are nothing but polite, fun, and especially SKILLED!! These people who have been posting the negative comments, obviously have not had a service provided for them, rather than just wanting to complain in general!! I am a very loyal client, have referred all my friends and family to go there. I would never go to another salon in my life!!
Terrible customer service.
Like the review above, I had great difficulty redeeming my voucher. The person I spoke to on the phone only huffed at me and didn’t explain anything. It was only when I read the reply above that I found out the scam they were unfortunately involved in. While it is terrible for a business to have such an experience, it is worse to be a potential customer met with extremely poor customer service and no explanation. I suggest you find someone with some manners to represent your business on the phone.
First of all, I wanna say that we have GREAT customer service. Our employees are all FULLY skilled and VERY well mannered and treat ALL our customers with RESPECT. We have a lot of loyal customers who keep coming back to enjoy their services. We have been in business for years and are NOT in business to scam people. We however have been scammed by this voucher company. They did NOT state on our voucher certain date and time restrictions and also expiration date. People who have purchased these vouchers had 1 year exact to the beginning of the month to use all the services we had offered. Unfortunately people who have waited for the last minute to redeem the voucher are unable to book certain services, due to us being a very busy salon! We have made lots of new clients who enjoyed our services through this voucher and are now our regular clients. We have won many awards for BEST salon in Burlington and no one is gonna bring us down!
